As per the new updates available on the NEST website new dates have been announced for the admission to the 5 years integrated courses to M.Sc. Programmes like Biological, Chemical, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences in National Institute of Science and Research, (NISER) Bhubaneshwar and University of Mumbai (Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS). Both the institutes come under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. There are 200 seats in total for 2021 batch which include reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC/Divyangjan.
As per the update the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) entrance examination 2021 has been rescheduled for the 14th of August, 2021. The date for the registration of the examination has also been extended till 15th of July, 2021. So interested candidates who want to apply for the entrance examination of NEST 2021 can fill their application till 15th of July. The exam will be conducted on 14th of August and its result will be declared on the official website on 1st of September 2021.

As per the updates the candidates applying for the examination must qualify all 4 eligibility criteria listed below:
- Candidates in the Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2001. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.
- Class XII qualifying examination must have passed in either 2019 or 2020. Candidates appearing in 2021 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)
- At least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
- Candidates should secure a position in the NEST merit list.
