After a meeting with Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Delhi Government has decided to partially reopen the schools for class 10th and 12th students. Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and Guidelines will be issued soon to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

After meeting and consultation with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) which was also attended by many other state players like CM Arvind Kejriwal, L-G Anil Bajpai, V K Paul, Randeep Guleria, ICMR General Balram Bhargava, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, and other official, the Government has decided to reopen the schools for class 10th and 12th students from 9th of August 2021.

The schools are reopening partially and the students of class 10th and 12th can visit their schools for admission related work, including counselling, guidance and practical activities related to board examinations. The government will soon issue the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and Pandemic Guidelines to ensure the safety of the students and teachers. Government has taken this step after consultation and meeting with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

The Deputy CM Manish Sisodia who holds the education portfolio, had invited suggestions from the stakeholders, teachers and parents on the issues of reopening of the schools. After considering all the suggestions and meeting with the DDMA government has decided to partially reopen the schools for class 10th and 12th students. Manish Sisodia has said that the school education has already been affected due to the closure of the schools for the past one year.

But now the government is endeavouring to revamp the school education by reopening the classes partially. Many states have already reopened and many are in the process of reopening the schools. Delhi Government will soon issue fresh guidelines & SOPs that need to be followed by the schools for the safety of the teachers and students from the pandemic.
