CBSE in a recent notification directed or notified to all the heads of the CBSE affiliated schools not to start the academic session before 1st of April. As it has been observed by CBSE that many schools have already begin their academic session.

CBSE opines that an attempt to complete an entire year’s coursework in a reduce timeframe poses risks for the students who may get overwhelmed and struggle to keep up with the pace of learning, which leads to anxiety and burnouts.

It also leaves a little or no time for other extracurricular activities such as Life Skills, Value Education, Health & Physical Education, Work Education, and community service, as these activities are as good as academics.

All the heads of the CBSE affiliated schools are also directed to strictly follow the academic session from 1st of April to 31st of March.
